In John 14-16 Jesus makes many incredible claims about the
ministry of the Holy Spirit. John 14:16, “And I will ask the
Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.” John
15:26-27, “When the Counselor comes, the One I will send to you from the Father—the
Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father—He will testify about Me. ” John 16:7, “Nevertheless, I
am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I
don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send Him to
you.” You also will testify, because
you have been with Me from the beginning. John 16:8, “When He comes, He
will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment.”
Jesus said it,
so we believe it. Yet, for most of us, we have to admit that our lives often do not
measure up to what we know to be true. The Christian life is supposed to be a
supernatural life. When we place our trust in Christ as our Savior, His Spirit,
the Holy Spirit takes up permanent residence inside us!
Sunday nights at 6:00 PM we’re doing a Bible
study by Jim Cymbala entitled, When God’s Spirit Moves: Six Sessions on the
Life-Changing Power of the Holy Spirit. In addition to the bible study, each
week features a testimony of how the Holy Spirit’s power to change a life.
Listen here to the story of how Jesus changed Roma Black’s life from lesson
one. Join us Sunday night at six.
