POP! What were you expecting? What should our neighbors expect of us?

Look more like Jesus.
Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. 1 Peter 2:11-12

1. How did Jesus “look”?

o Matthew 19:14
o Mark 10:14
o Matthew 14:14

o Luke 7:11-13
o John 6:5-13
o Matthew 9:36-38

2. In what tangible ways do you believe God is calling you to “look” more like Jesus?

Serve more like Jesus.
The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught.31Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest."

So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place. But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.

By this time it was late in the day, so his disciples came to him. "This is a remote place," they said, "and it's already very late.Send the people away so they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat."But he answered, "You give them something to eat."
They said to him, "That would take eight months of a man's wages! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?" Mark 6:30-37

3. How did Jesus serve?

o 2 Corinthians 8:9
o John 4:34
o Mark 14:36
o John 13:1-17
o Matthew 20:28
o Mark 10:45
o Luke 19:10

4. In what tangible ways do you believe God is calling you to “serve” more like Jesus?

Love more like Jesus.
If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth, Philippians 2:1-10

5. How did Jesus love?

o John 3:16
o Luke 18:15-17
